FYI, while kinja converts gifs to mp4 for display you can get gif version to post by changing the URL from .mp4 to .gif. So https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_320/n2nsmhowhqwud7ydxwg0.mp4   becomes https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_320/n2nsmhowhqwud7ydxwg0.gif

Of course it’s pretty weird that they can display modern video formats but don’t let us post mp4s or webms directly...
